Craig begun his triathlon career as a change of direction from the team sports he had played previously, starting with Cricket and AFL. As a budding triathlete he looks back and describes himself as an average age grouper who wasn't going out and winning everything from day one. He could run well, and swim and bike 'ok'. Through hard work, consistency and sheer tenacity Craig started his climb up the ladder from age group wins at State and then National level, right through to an Age Group World Championship Medal in Montreal.
This is where his Pro career begun, with a focus on Short Course ITU style racing and Duathlon Craig took out Four National Duathlon Championships and went to two World Championships as a professional Duathlete.
After racing short course for a number of years, Craig then made the decision to attempt longer distance racing, starting with a Half Ironman in 2004 where he took second step on the podium in a blistering 3:53. This he followed up with his first Ironman race in 2005 where he finished 4th and qualified himself for the World Championship in Hawaii.
In the years since, Craig has seen top 30 finishes in Hawaii, a 2nd in Ironman Louisville, two 4th place finishes in Australian Ironman races, and numerous podium finishes on the domestic short course circuit.
Craig can now be found sharing his knowledge and experience as a consulting Osteopath for custom bike fitting in-store at Evolution Cycles, looking after his own budding family in Melbourne, and still tearing up domestic short course races showing the new generation how to do it.
